Album Summary
“GIRLS,” EXO CBX’s debut Japanese extended play (hereafter known as EP) was released May 24th, 2017. “GIRLS” was released by AVEX Trax and distributed by AVEX Music Creative and on multiple digital music streaming applications: YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, QQ Music, MelOn, Genie, and Naver. The EP included the Japanese version of their debut Korean single “Hey Mama.” The music video teaser for the lead single released on this EP, “Ka-Ching!” was released on April 28th, with a short version of the lead single released later on May 1st. On March 10th, the sub unit revealed through a live broadcast that a Japanese debut was underway, and confirmed April 1st. On April 26th, it was revealed that four versions of the album would be released in May: a group “CBX” version including a CD/DVD, and three member specific CD only versions. On May 15th, a highlight medley was released by Avex featuring song snippets from the EP. The first edition of the EP included an exclusive bonus track that would not be available on any future versions.
