Album Summary

“Self Portrait,” Suho’s debut extended play (hereafter known as EP) was released March 30th, 2020 by SM Entertainment and distributed by Dreamus. “Self Portrait” was released by SM Entertainment on multiple digital music streaming applications: YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, QQ Music, MelOn, Genie, FLO, and Naver. The lead single for this EP was announced as “Let’s Love,” a title reminiscent of the endearing chant known to EXO and EXOLs. Throughout the month of March details of Suho’s debut EP were released: the title of the EP, details about the physical and digital versions of the album, the reveal of key international producers and collaborations to take place, teaser images, album concept medley, behind the scenes clips of the making of the EP revealed on EXO’s YouTube Channel, and the official release of “Let’s Love” music video. Suho participated in the writing and conceptualizing of each song on the EP as well as the impressionist appearance of the album cover. 

Achievements 

  • ”Self Portrait” recorded 281, 445 pre-order sales in South Korea. 
  • The EP topped the iTunes album chart in 50 countries.
  • “Let’s Love,” the title song of the EP topped Korea’s biggest digital site Melon.
  • “Self Portrait” earned the peak position of #1 on Gaon’s South Korean Albums Chart
  • “Self Portrait” earned the peak position of #22 on Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums Chart
  • “Self Portrait” earned the peak position of #26 on Oricon’s Japanese Albums Chart
  • “Self Portrait” earned the peak position of #70 on OCC’s UK Digital Albums Chart
  • “Self Portrait” earned the peak position of #32 on ZPAV’s Polish Albums Chart
  • “Self Portrait” earned the peak position of #13 on Billboard’s US World Albums Chart
  • “Let’s Love” earned the peak position of #7 on Gaon’s South Korean Digital Chart
  • “Let’s Love” earned the peak position of #13 on KPop Hot 100 South Korean Chart
