Miracles in December

“Miracles in December,” EXO’s overall second EP, and first special winter album (also known as an extended play; will hereafter be known as EP) was released on December 9th, 2013. “Miracles in December” was released and distributed by SM Entertainment worldwide, by SM Entertainment and KT Music in South Korea, Avex Taiwan in Taiwan, and by S.M. True in Thailand. The debut studio album was released and distributed on multiple digital music streaming applications: YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, QQ Music, MelOn, Genie, and Naver. The EP was simultaneously released in Korean and Mandarin in all regions. Prior to the release of the EP, SM announced in November of 2013 that EXO would be holding a joint concert with f(x) entitled “Christmas Wonderland” on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day within the following month. In early December, EXO released 2 minute medley clip for both Korean and Mandarin language versions of Miracles in December. The following day, music videos featuring both versions was released on YouTube. The title track of the same name as the EP was performed on televised local music programs as a trio by members Baekhyun, D.O. and Chen for the Korean recording and members Baekhyun, Chen, and Luhan for the Mandarin recording. Member Lay also participated in the live performances as an accompanist on the piano. On December 5th, EXO performed their title track and lead single “Miracles in December” on Mnet’s M! Countdown. The single was simultaneously released on this day. Later in the month, EXO debuted their performance of Korean version of their album single “Christmas Day” as choreographed by Tony Testa and Greg Hwang. The group continued their promotions for the EP on music programs including M Countdown, Music Bank, Show! Music Core, Inkigayo, SBS’ MTV The Show, Show Champion, and as part of the winter festival SM Town Week: Christmas Wonderland on Christmas Eve.
