Album Summary

“Coming Over,” EXO’s second Japanese single album was released on December 7th, 2016. “Coming Over” was released and distributed by Avex Trax in Japan. The Japanese single album was released and distributed on multiple digital music streaming applications. The studio album was simultaneously released in Korean and Mandarin in all regions. The single includes six tracks all of which were re-released on January 31st, 2018 on EXO’s first Japanese studio album, “Countdown.” On September 7, EXO announced through a video that they would be releasing their second Japanese single titled “Coming Over” containing three original Japanese tracks in December. On October 7, the full song was made available in Japan through the AWA application, a popular Japanese streaming service, and was played over 100,000 times in the 12 hours before the promotional event ended. A short version of the music video for “Coming Over” was released on November 18. The single was officially released on December 7.

Achievements 

  • “Coming Over” sold over 150,000 copies within the first week of its release, making EXO the first international artist to have two consecutive Japanese single albums with first-week sales of over 100,000 copies. 
  • “Coming Over” earned the peak position of #2 on Oricon’s Japan Weekly Albums Chart
  • “Coming Over” earned the peak position of #3 on Billboard’s Japan Weekly Hot 100 Albums Chart
  • “Coming Over” earned the peak position of #15 on Gaon’s South Korea Weekly Albums Chart
  • “Coming Over” earned the peak position of #5 on Oricon’s Japan Monthly Albums Chart
  • “Coming Over” earned the peak position of #41 on Oricon’s Japan Year-End Albums Chart
